One Base – Many Reactors
Below is the list of currently available and future planned bolt-in reactors for the GEK base. The default reactor for the GEK is an Imbert type downdraft, as this is the usual starting point for making low tar gas to run engines and generate electricity.
We can also provide open core gasification reactors for updraft or stratified downdraft regimes, as well as more elaborate open core multi-point air injection type architectures. Pyrolysis reactors for Biochar and BioOil are available in simple direct combustion modes or indirect combustion retort designs with full control of all temperature, residence time, and ramp particulars. Later in this process we will introduce more complex reactors like fluidized beds and cyclonic swirl types. Later still, maybe it will be you who offers the microwave or plasma arc bolt in reactor for the GEK . . .
Don’t see what you want? Write us and we can likely make it for you. We regularly build custom reactors for university research and commercial development projects. Unusual and interesting reactors are what we do daily in house for our own research purposes. We would enjoy doing the same for you.
Current and planned GEK reactors:
1. GEK Imbert Downdraft: nozzle and throat downdraft reactor with closed top.
2. Open Core: Updraft, Stratified downdraft, multi-point air injection, open top.
3. Pyrolysis-Biochar: direct combustion and retort, batch and continuous rotary/auger

4. Updraft and TLUD (top lit updraft / inverted stratified downdraft)
5. Crossdraft and Kalle
6. Fluidized Bed (bubbling and circulating)
7. Cyclonic/Vortex/Swirl
